Annual Membership Meeting

Once again, Max Haug capably and humorously emceed the Annual Meeting of the Arvada Historical Society.

Debra Williams gave the invocation to start off the official part of the meeting.

Storyteller Mary Jane Bradbury gave an entertaining and informative portrayal of 19th Century naturalist Martha Maxwell.

2007-2009 President Scott Staley reviewed the highlights of the past year for the assembled members.

President Scott Staley gave special recognition to Mickey Maker for her many years of service as editor of The Historian.

Anita Marcussen was thanked for her efforts in promoting the Tea at McIlvoy House that has been so successful.

The members gave a round of applause for Dee Williams, who has provided exceptional service to the society over the years in keeping track of telephone messages.

Julie Graham began her term as President by recognizing the contributions of her predecessor, Scott Staley.

President Julie Graham painted a glowing picture of the future of Arvada Historical Society and challenged the members to step up and make it happen.


Bonnie Thomas gave a progress report on activities at the McIlvoy House.


Jo Ann Termentozi thanked the many volunteers who have made the past year so special and spoke of the challenges of the future for AHS. Contact JoAnn today, she'll put you to work.

This year's silent auction was bigger and better than ever, with many members taking home some special items that had been donated for the benefit of the society.

A lovely breakfast was catered by members of the Shrine of St. Anne Catholic Church in McCormick Hall (parish room).

Scrapbooks full of information about the society's history were on display for attendees to browse through.
