Arvada Historical Society held its annual membership meeting
August 23 at the Indian Tree Golf Club restaurant. Max Haug welcomed the
attendees, led them in the pledge of allegiance, and introduced Debra
Williams, who delivered the invocation, which was followed by the delicious
breakfast.![]() |

| A silent auction, featuring historical society merchandise and donations from members was very popular and generated some extra income for the society. | ![]() |
| Bill Knott, recently retired from 37 years as the Jefferson County Librarian, entertained the audience with many stories of the early days of Arvada, espeically concerning the libraries and the country library system. | ![]() |
Max Haug then chaired the election of new officers and board members, and President Scott Staley reviewed the past year, noting advances at the Flour Mill and various society activities and projects. |

| Jo Ann Termentozzi, Volunteer coordinator, recognized the contributions of various volunteers to our organization, especially one of the youngest, Matthew Prythero, who recently solved a riddle involving a gravestone found in a storm drain by city crews. | ![]() |
